Root is CACC Rookie of the Week for a second time

Post University women’s volleyball freshman Brianna Root was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.
In a five-set win over Caldwell, The former Bristol Eastern standout had 58 assists and 12 digs. She followed that up with 29 assists and seven digs in a 3-0 win over Philadelphia.
Post is in first place in the CACC, and Root is a big reason why. She leads the team and the conference in assists and has so far amassed the seventh highest single-season output in that category in program history. Her 947 assists are 106 more than any other player in the conference.
Root went to Post in part because they gave her the chance to continue to be a setter, and she has validated that decision throughout her first season with the Eagles.
The Eagles have six matches left in the regular season, then they play in the CACC Tournament.
