Crosby football = Division champions

There was no CIAC state playoff spot on the line on Thanksgiving morning at Ray Snyder Sr. Field, but Crosby and Kennedy still had something big to play for.
The Bulldogs and Eagles each entered their annual rivalry game with 3-0 records in the NVL Brass Division, meaning a championship was on the line. In the end, it was Crosby’s day to celebrate as the Bulldogs claimed an 18-15 victory.
This post on Crosby football’s Twitter account said it all:
“Brass Division Champs! Job well done Dogs. HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY!”
A touchdown pass from junior Mike Marshall to junior Eli Mbaya a little less than halfway through the fourth quarter proved to be the difference for Crosby. Marshall threw another touchdown pass to junior Kenny Petteway, and senior MC Henry added a touchdown run for the Bulldogs.
““This game has been a reason for our guys to come out and compete these
last few weeks,” Crosby coach David Jurewicz told the Republican-American’s Adam Baker. “It has allowed our
kids to play hard. It’s definitely been the focus for the last few
weeks, and it was our job to go and get it.”
Senior Bryan Garcia-Medina threw a touchdown pass to junior J.J. Cossette for Kennedy. Garcia-Medina also ran for a touchdown. Junior Jacob Colon was the top Eagle offensively until he got hurt in the fourth quarter, according to Baker’s article.

Crosby finished the season a perfect 4-0 in the Brass Division and 4-6 overall. Kennedy ended the year at 3-1 in the division, 3-7 overall. The Eagles, coached by Chris Sarlo, were playing for a division title for the first time since winning the Copper in 2008.
Both the Bulldogs and Eagles got solid efforts from juniors who will be back next season. Crosby loses a large class to graduation. Those players are (according to the CIAC roster): Anastacio
Acevedo, Emmanuel Camacho-Roman, Jermaine Coggins, Safet Daliposki,
Jonathan Diaz, Rodney Eason, MC Henry, Aaron Hills, Devonte Hope, Blake
Ireland, Wykeam Jackson, Matthew Jaffer, Isaiah Lilley, Alvin Lopes,
James Maldonado, Anthony Mancini, Jovani Mercado-Rios, Troy Nixon,
Leonard Ortiz and Jonathan Serrano.
Kennedy loses the following players to graduation (again, according to the CIAC roster): Jose
Cardona, Jordan Crosby-Williams, Christian Curry, Bryan Garcia-Medina,
Justin Gopie, Al Jean-Baptiste, Jameel Norwood and Joshua Rivera.
