Wheelock College freshman Dejuan “DJ” Rodriguez has been honored as New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for his recent performance.
The honor was announced by the league today in a press release. The former St. Paul Catholic standout scored 13 points and grabbed five rebounds off the bench in a 104-76 loss to Division I UMass-Lowell. Rodriguez also had a steal and a block for Wheelock, a Division III school.
The Wildcats, who haven’t played since Nov. 24, return to the floor Thursday with a NECC road contest at Elms College.
