Holy Cross junior Idalis Miranda connects for her 1,000th point

Idalis Miranda hasn’t been herself at points this season at Holy Cross.
You can forgive her, given she was adjusting to a new school, new team, new coaches and new teammates after playing at Chase Collegiate.
To say the least, Miranda looked comfortable on Monday night in a NVL showdown against St. Paul at The Pit.

Holy Cross junior Idalis Miranda poses with head coach
Frank Lombardo after scoring her 1,000th career point
in Monday night’s game against St. Paul.

Miranda tied with Rashana Siders for a game-high 19 points, and she connected on a 3-pointer to reach the 1,000-point mark in her career. Head coach Frank Lombardo has been looking for Miranda to shoot more, and she wasn’t shy about it Monday when teammates like Siders and Century McCartney struggled with their shooting.
“She definitely had the best game of the year tonight,” Lombardo said.
Miranda understands how much she adds to Holy Cross if she’s confident shooting the ball.
“I think it would [help], because it’s very hard to guard everyone when they’re going full speed at you,” Miranda said.
Miranda is part of a three-headed monster backcourt attack that includes Siders and McCartney. Miranda getting more comfortable with her surroundings means the Crusaders become that much more dangerous a team.
And the worst news for the rest of the NVL…Miranda is a junior. Yikes.
