St. Paul girls 7-0

The St. Paul girls basketball team improved to an impressive 7-0 with a 72-38 demolition of Seymour on Friday night at home.
The Falcons opened the game up with a 23-11 second quarter, which gave them a 42-22 halftime lead. From there, St. Paul stretched the lead further and coasted to the win.
It was a balanced scoring attack for the Falcons, according to the boxscore reported to the Hartford Courant. Lizzy Cretella led the way with 16 points, but she had plenty of help. Brigid Johndrow (10 points), Lizzy Ferraro (9), Emily Sklenka (9), Molly Hooks (6) and Steph Speaker (6) all had productive nights, typical of a solid effort from a Joe Mone coached St. Paul team.
The closest game thus far for the Falcons was during the David T. Rybczyk Memorial Tournament in Plainville, where they defeated Pomperaug 63-53.
It’s a big week for St. Paul. On Monday, the Falcons host a Crosby (6-1) team that has won four straight games. On Wednesday, St. Paul hits the road to play Woodland (7-1), winners of seven straight games. The Falcons close out the week on Friday at home against Naugatuck (3-5). All games are scheduled for 7 p.m.
