BIG GAME ALERT: Bristol Central hosts Eastern tonight in annual wrestling battle

There may be something bigger going on in the CT-69 area this evening, but not if you are (1) from Bristol and (2) a fan of wrestling.
Bristol Central, which has had a great bounce-back season, hosts fifth-ranked Bristol Eastern this evening at 6 at Bristol Central High School. There’s always plenty of emotion and intensity when these two teams get together. There’s no CCC South Division title on the line, unless Middletown loses to Berlin (not likely), but these friends turn into rivals on this night and will battle until the final whistle.
Bristol Eastern (14-2, 4-1 division) comes in ranked fifth in the latest Norwich Bulletin coaches poll. Bristol Central (12-4, 4-1 division) has been receiving votes in that same poll for much of this season. Both teams have won invitationals and finished strongly in dual tournaments. For one night, the Rams and Lancers put it on the line against each other.
Here’s a CIAC listing of the seniors for both teams:
Bristol Central — Noah Cruz, Julian Galindez, Michael Gaudoin, Jack Hale, Angel Hidalgo, William Jabs, Jacob “Kuba” Kreciglowa, Kasean Milward, Krzysztof Nizielski, Shane Oxton, Isiah Sumler, Alexander Woodward
Bristol Eastern — Justin Brunet, Anthony Circosta, Jovan Gourdine, Gregory Lozier, Garrett McCarthy, Christian Paparazzo, Luis Rivera Lopez, Zachary Thompson, Joshua Wilson
