St. Paul boys make it 10 straight state playoff appearances

The St. Paul boys basketball team has had a strong run of success over the past decade.
Year in and year out, the Falcons have made themselves eligible for the state tournament. St. Paul did it again last night, beating Derby 78-68 on the road to clinch the berth.
“Falcons win over Derby,” read a post on the SPC Boys Basketball Twitter account. “Lock up their 8th win as well a state tournament (berth). 10 consecutive years of post season qualification!”
Jackson Hines was the big scorer for St. Paul with 21 points. Not surprisingly during this run of success, a team effort helped the Falcons pick up the victory. Ben Mazzone tallied 16 points and Mike Ranagan had a great night with 15 points, 12 rebounds and six assists. Austin Jones scored nine points while Mike Palmieri added eight points.
When state tournament play begins in Class S on March 7, St. Paul will again be a participant. The Falcons continue to win, and their reward is more games in the postseason.
