Less than a week after claiming the NVL boys tennis team title, Wolcott now owns the doubles championship.
In an all-Eagle doubles final, the team of Jay Caggiano and Ryan Collins knocked off the tandem of Alex Hale and Jackson Yost in three sets. The set scores were 6-3, 4-6 and 6-4.
Wolcott No. 1 Matt Spina made it to the NVL singles final, where he lost a three-set heartbreaker to Woodland Regional’s Mike Roulanaitis. The set scores were 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (5). Spina had his chances, but Roulanaitis was able to rally, force the tiebreaker, and win the match.
