There were three local players on the rosters of the Arizona League Reds and Angels when they played each other on Sunday at Tempe Diablo Stadium.
None of the locals played in the game, won 7-6 by the Reds, but it’s still worth noting the local flavor the game had on the rosters. Bristol Central’s Matt Blandino and Wolcott’s Manny Cruz suit up for the Reds. For the Angels, there’s Bristol Eastern’s Connor Fitzsimons. Wonder if there’s ever been a time where three locals have been in the same professional park.
There could come a time where these guys actually play against each other at the professional level, and that would be a fun experience.
