The Waterbury American Legion Post 1 19U baseball team begins tournament play tomorrow at 7 p.m. at Municipal Stadium against Hamden.
Waterbury had a bye through the “Sectional” portion of the Southern Division as the No. 2 seed and Zone 5 champion. Hamden, the No. 7 seed in the Southern Division, took down No. 18 Guilford 1-0 behind a complete game from ace Ron Grant. In the second game of “Sectionals,” Hamden defeated No. 10 Wilton 5-2.
The best-of-three “Regionals” series between Waterbury and Hamden begins tomorrow at 5 p.m. at Municipal Stadium. Games 2 and 3 (3 if necessary) will be at Bucks Hill Park on Thursday. Times for those games are to be determined.
The winner of this series will go the “Super Regionals” at Palmer Field in Middletown.
