Bristol legend Tom Monahan to be honored with another Hall induction

For many years, Tom Monahan was a man Bristol turned to when there was a question about the city’s high school athletics.
Monahan is no longer with us, but his sports legacy continues to be honored.
This time, the honor comes from the CAS-CIAC, which will add Monahan to its Hall of Honor, along with six other individuals in what is the second class.
The CAS-CIAC said this about Monahan:

“Mr. Tom Monahan was a fixture in the athletics community in Bristol for decades and served many valuable roles for CIAC. He was the athletic director for Bristol public schools helping grow the athletics programs in the town and his work with the CIAC included serving as a tour mane director, consultant, and committee member.”

Monahan first made his mark in athletics at the old Bristol High School as a student-athlete. It was only the beginning of decades of dedication to athletics in the Mum City for him. Monahan is a member of the Bristol Sports Hall of Fame.
Monahan joins another local, Dr. Robert Carroll, in the Hall of Honor. Carroll, who was enshrined posthumously in the first class in 2015, was a long-time administrator in the Wolcott Public Schools system. He was also generous with his time when it came to CAS, the administrative part of CAS-CIAC. Carroll was also terrific with the community itself, assisting in many humanitarian efforts.

The second class of the Hall of Honor will be inducted on Oct. 29 at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville.
