INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD STATE OPEN: Wilkins, Williams finish in Top 4 in 55-meter hurdles

Several local athletes took part in the indoor track and field State Open on Monday at New Haven’s Floyd Little Athletic Center.
The best event of the day for area athletes was the boys 55-meter hurdles. Kaynor Tech senior Jordon Wilkins finished second out of seven competitors, and Sacred Heart sophomore Edward Williams was fourth.
Bristol Central’s 4×200-meter relay of senior Kaynan Conrod, senior Sean Fitzgerald, junior Nigel West and senior Luis Medina placed seventh out of 16 teams. The Ram 4×400 relay of junior Pat Kjornrattanawanich, Fitzgerald, Medina and Conrod took 11th. Central junior Shy-Ann Whitten took 11th in the high jump.
Bristol Eastern had one competitor in the open, senior Christopher LeBeau, and he placed 16th in the 600 meters.
