WRESTLING: Locals ready to take on competition in state meets

Area wrestlers begin quests for state championship glory tomorrow at various sites.
Bristol Central High School hosts the Class L meet, where Bristol Eastern is gunning for a team title. The host Bristol Central hopes to do well as well.
Eastern has a host of high seeds in the 14 weight classes, led by 182-pound senior Zach Marquis, who is the top seed (19-2). Several other Lancers are seeded in the Top 5 in their respective weight classes: junior Mikey Barrett (No. 2 at 160, 32-2); sophomore Trinadad Gonzalez (No. 2 at 170, 30-4); junior Jordon Champagne (No. 3 at 113, 32-3); junior Bryce Beebe (No. 4 at 106, 32-6); senior Anthony Lozier (No. 5 at 145, 26-8); and sophomore Carson Sassu (No. 5 at 120, 27-8).
Central is led by junior Christopher Trelli (29-2), seeded third at 106. Junior Mike Guzman (19-8) is seeded fifth at 220.
Several St. Paul wrestlers are seeded in the Top 6 in Class S. They are: senior Matthew Gray (No. 2 at 220, 21-1); senior Jordan Silva (No. 4 at 182, 25-4); senior Elliot Garcia (No. 6 at 132, 19-7); and freshman Raymond Tucker (No. 6 at 138, 21-9).
Thomaston/Litchfield/Holy Cross is led by freshman Kyle Cribley (21-9), who is seeded fifth.
The Class S meet will be held at Windham High School.
