Rogers and Odessa move on, Chapman and Monroe eliminated at NJCAA’s

Odessa is moving on in the NJCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship in Hutchinson, Kansas, and Tyshon Rogers did his part off the bench.
On the other side of the bracket, Jarron Chapman and Monroe College were ousted.
Here’s what happened in each game, along with what’s coming up today:

No. 5 Odessa 83, No. 12 Gillette 76
Rogers came off the bench and scored eight points in 11 minutes in the second round matchup. He was 2-of-5 from the floor and 4-of-4 at the foul line. Rogers had one steal and one rebound.

No. 6 Eastern Florida State 89, No. 22 Monroe College 72
Chapman started and scored seven points in 25 minutes in the second round game. He was 3-of-7 from the floor and made his one three-point attempt. Chapman had one rebound, one assist and one steal.
Monroe finished the season with a record of 24-11.

TODAY’S ACTION 
Malik Petteway and No. 8 Northwest Florida State (28-3) play top-seeded San Jacinto-Central in a quarterfinal game at 1 p.m.
In the evening, Tyshon Rogers and No. 5 Odessa (28-5) face No. 4 Hutchinson in a quarterfinal contest at 7 o’clock. Odessa will be playing on Hutchinson’s home floor, the Hutchinson Sports Arena.
