Central, Eastern both play at Muzzy in city doubleheader (PHOTO LINKS)

Bristol’s Muzzy Field played host to both city public school baseball teams on Wednesday.

In the first game, Bristol Eastern went up against New Britain. The Lancers were shut out 6-0 by the Golden Hurricanes, who are having a great season. Bristol Eastern dropped to 7-5 and has lost two straight games. Jake Violette started the game on the mound for the Lancers and took the loss.
In the nightcap, it was Bristol Central which pitched the shutout. The Rams took down the Plainville Blue Devils 4-0 behind a complete game from Kenny Knox. Bristol Central jumped on Plainville for three runs in the first, then added another in the second. The Rams evened their record at 5-5.
