So what has Lawton done? Last week, she threw a no-hitter at home in a 13-1 win over Thomaston on Thursday. The one run came in because of some errors. Before that, an 8-0 shutout of Woodland on Tuesday. Lawton also threw one-hit shutouts against Wolcott on Saturday and Haddam-Killingworth on Sunday. The Wolcott game was a NVL Tournament quarterfinal, while the H-K contest was a regular season make-up.
In her last seven games, Lawton has allowed one unearned run. In those seven games, she’s thrown three no-hitters, one perfect game, and three shutouts. Opponents had a total of four hits in the three shutouts.
Lawton has put up some incredible numbers, and she has Holy Cross in the hunt for NVL and Class S state tournament titles.
