Bristol Central’s Dabkowski, Macdonald share the field again at Elms

Dabkowski (Elms athletics)

C.J. Dabkowski and Colby Macdonald shared the pitch together while they were teammates at Bristol Central High School.
The two are on the same side again, this time at Elms College in Chicopee, Mass. Dabkowski is in his senior season while Macdonald plays as a junior. Dabkowski and Macdonald are two of six Blazer players to start all 13 games, and both have done it as midfielders.
Elms is having a tough season overall at 4-9, but Dabkowski is doing his part to help his team. He had an assist in a 2-1 Blazer victory over Westfield State on Tuesday. Dabkowski has four assists for four total points this season.
Macdonald has two goals and two assists for a total of six points. One of those goals was of the spectacular variety.

Macdonald (Elms athletics)

Macdonald had a goal in a 3-2 double overtime loss to Worcester State on Sept. 27. He set up for a free kick off a yellow card in the 85th minute, with Elms down 2-1. Macdonald bent his kick out to the right, around a four-man wall of Worcester State defenders. The ball nestled perfectly into the far right side of the goal, just beyond the dive of the Lancer keeper. Here’s video of that awesome free kick.
Macdonald got to celebrate his goal with his teammates, including Dabkowski. It was just like old times at Bristol Central.
Dabkowski was a two-time All-Central Connecticut Conference South Division choice while playing for the Rams. Macdonald also made the All-CCC South squad twice. Both players made the team as a junior and as a senior. They were on the same All-CCC South squad in 2013.
Both players earned All-New England Collegiate Conference honors in 2016. Dabkowski was on the first team while Macdonald made the second team. Macdonald was also a third team All-NECC selection as a freshman.
