All area football teams had a bye in Week 6, and they are all halfway through their 10-game regular season schedules.
Of all the area teams, St. Paul has the best playoff position. For one, the Falcons are the only local team in the Top 8 (Top 8 in each class make the playoffs). St. Paul is ranked sixth in Class S, two spots behind Week 7 foe Ansonia. Both teams are 5-0 on the season.

The top three teams in Class S are all from the Connecticut Technical Conference, but that won’t last. No. 1 Bullard Havens Tech (5-0), No. 2 O’Brien Tech and No. 3 Prince Tech all have games left against each other. O’Brien and Prince have only played four games (both are 4-0), so both have six games left.
The Top 10 teams in Class S are unbeaten are either 5-0 or 4-0.
For St. Paul and Ansonia, something has to give this coming Friday when the two teams meet at Nolan Field at 7 p.m. One of the two teams will walk off that field with their first loss. St. Paul also has a game against Seymour in early November.
