Two games, two ties in Bristol city soccer

Time ran out without a winner in both soccer games played Monday at Bristol Eastern High School.
The Lancer boys came out aggressive in their match, but had to settle for a 0-0 tie against the Rams. In the nightcap, the Central and Eastern girls tied 2-2. CCC rules dictate two five-minute overtime periods after 80 minutes of regulation are completed. Ninety minutes were played in both matches, and it still wasn’t enough.
In the boys match, both defenses were strong, and so were keepers Tom Tefoe of Eastern and Alex Bernier of Central. The Rams finished the regular season with a record of 8-6-2. Eastern (5-6-4) still has one more match remaining, today at 6 p.m. against Maloney at Meriden’s Falcon Field.
In the girls match, second half goals from Jenna Lowe and Lily Hansen made sure the Rams rallied from a 2-0 deficit and secured the tie.
Despite being outshot for the match, the Lancers had a 2-0 lead on goals from Kate Kozikowski and Kailey Laprise. Eastern was able to get a tie in large part due to 17 saves by Karly Martin.
The regular season is over for both girls teams. Eastern went 7-7-2 while Central was 7-8-1.
