Connor Albert touched many lives in the City of Bristol.
Bone cancer cut Connor’s life short at the way-too-young age of 10, but the impact that “Captain Connor” had on people throughout the Mum City is still felt.
Bristol Central and the boys basketball team will honor the memory of Connor Albert in their own special way on Friday night. The Rams have a home game at 6:45 p.m. against Maloney, and they’re calling it “CONNOR STRONG SUPERHERO NIGHT.” “Connor Strong” was the slogan adopted by those that loved and supported Connor, including the students and faculty at the nearby South Side School that he attended.
Students who dress up as their favorite superhero get in free, and they will honor the memory of a great kid in the process. Regular tickets for adults are $5, and students without costumes will be charged $2. Connor’s favorite superhero was Captain America.
At halftime, a 50/50 raffle will be drawn, and the proceeds will go to the Albert family.
There were Bristol Central students who became close to Connor, and that was evident in social media posts after he passed away.
On Friday night, expect to see a lot of costumes inside the Charles C. Marsh Gymnasium.
