Barrette gets 100th career win, resurgent Bristol Central boys reach .500 mark

Bristol Central boys basketball head coach Tim Barrette hit a career milestone on Saturday when his Rams defeated Fitch 60-45 in Groton.
Barrette earned his 100th career victory and Central claimed its third win in the last four games. The Rams had started the season 0-2, but have improved to 3-3.
Jaekwon Spencer led Central in the Fitch win with 21 points. Noah Plantamuro sank four 3-pointers on the way to 12 points while Alex Bernier added 10 points.
Here’s a great note from Bristol Observer writer Mike Letendre: Barrette picked up win No. 100 in the same place where his Bristol Eastern playing career ended in 2001. Fitch won that game, a first round Class L matchup, but Barrette got one back as Central’s head coach on Saturday.
