Pair of Bristol boys teams bounce back from tough starts

Bristol Central boys basketball is a long way from its 1-3 start.
The Rams have won five straight games over Southington, Fitch, Plainville, Maloney and Tolland to get to 6-3. Central has been led by Jaekwon Spencer, Alex Bernier, Noah Plantamuro and Dathan Hickey. Spencer scored 29 points in the win over Plainville.
The Rams beat Southington by eight points and outlasted Maloney by six. In the other three games, Central’s win margin was 15, 15 and 16.

St. Paul is back to .500 at 4-4 after three straight wins. The Falcons own victories over Seymour, Kennedy and Oxford in that stretch. Tyler Arbuckle was the top scorer in the Seymour victory with 24 points, but it has been Mike Palmieri who has gone off since then. Palmieri had 33 points in the win over Kennedy, then followed it up with 31 against Oxford. Palmieri and Arbuckle have been the leading scorers, but others have contributed to the streak, including Matt Garry and Donovan Symes, just to name a couple.
