The final games of the high school girls basketball regular season will be played this week.
State tournament-bound teams are looking at improving their ranking if possible while trying to finish on a positive note. Several of those teams in this area are looking at league tournament games this weekend.
Three area teams rank in the Top 4 in their respective classes. Holy Cross (16-2) is ranked second in Class L, Sacred Heart (14-4) is third in Class S, and St. Paul (15-3) is fourth in Class M. A top-tier finish in Class L means a first-round bye for the Crusaders.
Here's where the other area girls teams are ranked:

NOTE: Bristol Eastern can still make it, but needs help from others. Brien McMahon is 6-12 and has two games left.
OUT: Kennedy

13. Crosby (12-6)
24. WCA (8-10)
OUT: Bristol Central, Wilby

21. Wolcott (10-7)
OUT: Kaynor Tech (5-14)
