The Wolcott girls basketball team will need to get Wednesday night’s 37-30 home loss to Naugatuck out of their minds quickly.
The Eagles (10-9) close the regular season at Kaynor Tech tonight at 6 o’clock. Wolcott will be the No. 7 seed in the NVL Tournament, which begins Saturday with quarterfinal games at Holy Cross High School. The Eagles will play second-seeded St. Paul.
Wolcott had a rough night offensively Wednesday, especially in the third quarter where Naugatuck put the game away. Raven Cody and Alayna Greene each scored seven points for the Eagles. Freshman Sam Riviezzo added four points.
It was Senior Night for Cody, Greene, Jenna Hoban, Morgan Kiely and Sam Hickey. Wolcott will look for a better result tonight against Kaynor Tech, and seek to build good momentum entering the postseason.
