St. Paul girls fall to Stonington in Class M second round

The valiant run of the third-seeded St. Paul girls basketball team came to an end on Thursday night in the second round of the Class M state tournament.
The Falcons didn’t have enough to overtake the No. 14 Stonington Bears and lost 41-32 at St. Paul Catholic High School. St. Paul battled injuries and illness throughout the season, and it finally caught up on Thursday.
Senior captains Aidrianna Lopez and Lindsey O’Bright led the Falcons with seven points, and Jade Udoh added six points. St. Paul finished a turbulent, yet still very successful given the circumstances, season at 18-5.
